MIRAGE
Jane was invited to lead the internal development at Mirage, a development house set up to work with the sadly missed Mike Singleton, regarded by many as the father of UK home computing. Jane was involved with Midwinter 3, “Ashes of Empire”, learning a great deal from Mike on the subjects of 3D and artificial intelligence. This would later become a major career focus for Jane, working on 3D systems and developing AI for award winning games.
Whilst at Mirage, Jane was also invited to work on “HR Giger’s Darkseed”, a surrealist adventure experience, that went on to be a worldwide bestseller. Jane travelled to Detroit, to work on the Commodore Amiga version of the game as a programmer in addition to being involved in the UK publishing of the PC version at Mirage. Jane would later return to the world of HR Giger, working 3 years later with the Alien franchise and Alien Vs Predator for Atari.
